Hi, there.

I’m Jayne—a no-nonsense personal trainer, powerlifting coach, and yoga instructor with more than a decade of experience in the fitness industry. I help women get stronger, feel more capable in their bodies, and discover that lifting heavy things is actually a lot of fun.

When I started South Park Barbell, I was warned that refusing to sell weight loss would limit my success. But I wasn’t interested in building a business around making women smaller.

Instead, I built a gym where women train to take up space, build strength, and become more capable—not less. No quick fixes, no punishment, and no shrinking required. Just smart training, a strong community, and a generous dose of encouragement.

“My experience with Jayne has been wonderful, if not profound. It has helped me reconnect, understand and repair my body after having my kids, and has become a vital part of my overall mental health. As a trainer and leader, Jayne is patient, razor-sharp knowledgeable, a consummate professional, but also fun! The atmosphere she has created is adamantly inclusive of all ages and body sizes and types. I’ve never looked forward to exercising before, but I do now.”

I used to track every gram of food I ate and pair long lifting sessions with grueling cardio circuits. I was disciplined—and completely miserable. With age came the realization that fitness could be about what my body can do instead of what it looks like. These days, my goals are a lot more fun, like being able to box jump my age in inches.

When I’m not at the gym or working on my PhD, you’ll probably find me playing board games (and losing), snuggling my dog Leo, or reading. I believe fitness should add to your life, not take it over—and that’s the approach I bring to South Park Barbell.

Who I Work With.

I work with women to make movement a joy, not a chore. If burpees aren’t your thing, don’t worry—we’re not fans either. If lunges make your knees protest, we’ll find something else. There are countless ways to move your body, and the key to a lasting love affair with exercise is finding what you actually enjoy.

I take a weight-neutral approach to exercise for women who want to feel better, sleep better, and move like they’ve got something to prove. If you’re over diet culture, tired of the latest gimmick, and craving a group of real women who show up as themselves—welcome.
